Call for Research Grant

As part of its 2024 Girls Education Empowerment Project (GEEP), which focuses on secondary school, Gumaye Foundation is also going to offer a small research grant for MA researchers from Northern Ethiopia’s Tigray universities. This petite fund is aimed at backing up the researchers who are not funded, or were interrupted because of the war, and couldn’t finish their research. This is the 1st round and will continue with a better amount of grants.
Research themes funded: Culture and Heritage or related
Number of researchers: 4 female students (one from each university: Raya University, Mekelle University, Addigrat University, and Aksum University)
Gant Amount: 500 $ for each student
Application Deadline: 21 March, 2024
Eligibility
• Applicants should be female MA students.
• The researcher’s thesis must have already started before this call.
• Research themes should be on culture and heritage (damage, endangered values, rehabilitation, etc of cultural heritage are prioritized), but not limited to that.
• Females with disabilities are given priority.
What to Submit?

1. Researchers should bring a cover letter/letter of interest as well as an official letter from their respective departments or colleges confirming that they were not funded enough or their thesis was interrupted because of the Tigray War.
2. Researchers should submit the title of their thesis, and their abstracts/concepts.
